Mo Dewji Foundation
We are thrilled to welcome the Mo Dewji Foundation (MDF) to the East Africa Philanthropy Network’s vibrant community of changemakers. Established by Mohammed Dewji—an influential business leader and passionate philanthropist—MDF embodies a deep commitment to uplifting communities across Tanzania. Mohammed’s journey began in Singida, where he grew up facing significant obstacles, including limited access to basic services like healthcare and education. These early experiences profoundly influenced his vision, driving a lifelong commitment to creating opportunities for others. After earning his degree from Georgetown University and serving in Tanzanian politics, Mohammed channeled his dedication to impact into founding MDF. Under his leadership, the foundation has launched transformative initiatives aimed at improving healthcare, education, and access to clean water, touching countless lives and fostering long-term development. In 2016, his dedication to giving back was solidified through his pledge to donate half of his wealth via the Giving Pledge, a testament to his enduring belief in philanthropy. As the newest member of EAPN, the Mo Dewji Foundation brings invaluable expertise and proven strategies that will undoubtedly enhance our collective mission of building resilient, thriving communities across East Africa.
